I couldn't decide on a topic for today's inspirational quotes - so I'm going with a mixed bag. Perhaps one of these will speak to where you're at right now!
You have brains in your head.

The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do. ~Sarah Ban Breathnach
You must have long-range goals to keep you from being frustrated by short-range failures. ~Charles C. Noble
It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not. ~Author Unknown
And who doesn't want some inspirational advice from Dr. Suess?
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
You are the guy who'll decide where to go.
~Dr. Seuss
Which one speaks to you today?
Happy Wednesday everyone :)

I'd choose Dr Seuss today. Nice mix of encouragement and "Pull up your pants and do it, dammit." :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Dr. Seuss, hands down! That man was wise! LOL And the "long-range goals vs. short-range failures" must have been written with authors in mind. Just imagine what our world would be like if all our favorite authors had given up after their first rejection?
ReplyDelete'It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not.'
ReplyDeleteLOL! Today I was ranting to my co-worker about another colleague who can't recover from a job demotion which happened several years ago, and gets herself into knots when she is reminded that she is no longer that person - like this morning, for example. After my cool dissing of that person, I walked out of our office - only to discover I'd forgotten my pass. Had to knock until I could retrieve it. Karma swatted me back immediately. And your quote sums it all up perfectly!
I read your comment this morning, Hayley, and immediately thought of "Pants on the Ground" - ha! Not so 'ha' when I ended up singing or humming that sone ALL DAY :(
ReplyDeleteGreat Dr. Suess quote, eh?
Hey, Lu - I think the "long range goals, short range failures" spoke to me the most today. Another rejection *sigh* - but the long range goal is still out there, still visible. Hunker down and get at 'er!
ReplyDeleteMaybe one day I'll be one of those amazing authors that others will say "Thank goodness she didn't give up!" :)
It' always cool when life gives you lessons, isn't it Julia! But it's usually the wise and openminded that recognize the connection. And the truly gifted who make changes (I fall into the wise category - very rarely am I gifted enough to make appropriate changes and then life has to hand me the same lesson, AGAIN).
