My legs hurt from the last couple of treadmill runs - so not an outside runner in the middle of winter even though it was 10 degrees here yesterday and almost spring like - as I up my speed for interval work in order to get faster!
I was having a big discussion with myself yesterday about how life is too short only to get where I was going and be told that a friend of a friend had passed away - the news was terribly sad, the coincidence was goosebump inducing. I can't stop thinking about it!
Money shouldn't make the world go around!
I am writing!
I'm still craving potato chips!
Any random thoughts today, People of Blogland?

Sorry to hear about your friend's friend. I know sometimes things like that can wedge in your head. (Or they wedge in mine, anyway.)
ReplyDeleteI know my daughter can get herself up and to class, but I can't get past the overwhelming urge to call her and make sure.
Was that random enough? ;o)
It must be hard to let go, B.E.? I can't imagine what it would be like to release a child into the world even with the knowledge that I had prepared her for that world (which I know you've done for your daughter).
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your thought with me today :)
Janet,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about your friend's friend. Did you know her/him?
Coincidences often happen because we already have our minds on that subject and so we notice things connected to it. e.g. I never see the numbers 942 (my childhood address) but if I get thinking about home, I see 942 repeatedly for the next few days.
Don't let it upset you. Such coincidences are as common as my new hobby of forgetting everything until someone calls to ask where I was.
Oh damn! Speaking of forgetting, I was supposed to go to a meeting and I totally forgot.
Letting go of children - B.E. is right on. And, although mine are between 34 and 42, I still worry about accidents etc - especially since two are policemen.
Last week a 14-year-old stole a truck and when Rob forced her to stop, she deliberately rammed his police car several times. If he hadn't taken a moment to reach for his hat and had stepped out of the car, his own car would have been pushed over him.
She's a youth offender so she will get community service hours to perform, (which, of course, she will dutifully fulfill). Pig's eye?
I am glad you are writing.
I have cleared the treadmill and the agony starts when I finish this.
The SRW short story book is out. Do you want a copy? Let me know.
Random?
ReplyDeleteI have 14 cardboard boxes stacked around my office. Why?
Hamburger for dinner. Must find something different to do with it. Ah heck. Too much trouble. Hamburger steak then.
I love Eric Clapton's song, LAYLA.
I'm made of random today. LOL
My shoulder hurts! Finally saw an Osteopath for my 1st time today. Boy, he's cute! ..... and expensive! But I think the treatments will work.
ReplyDeleteProbably Subway for supper as there are only 2 of us.
Can't wait to read my book!
Tomorrow's Friday! Yay!!!
Ooh, so glad to hear that your treadmill is cleared and you're going to be using it for pain, er, exericse, Connie!! You go, girl.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know this person - met her once. Just the timing - after my self-talk about life being short and then hearing about the passing. Still giving me goosebumps.
I know all about the SRW book, Connie - how exciting for the group. Have my copy on the wish list for my next book purchasing.
Tell your son to stay safe - my goodness, I think you have every right to worry with him being a police man - every right for every parent to worry (my mom's 81 and still worries about us all daily).
Love the randomness, Silver! We had hamburger the night before last - made it into Hamburger Helper 'cause that's all we could come up with :)
ReplyDeleteI love that song, too.
What's with the boxes?
Perhaps the cuteness will help with the pain and expense, Sandy?
ReplyDeleteLove Subway - have been drooling everytime the "$5 Footlong" commercial comes on!
Ooh, what are you reading? Maybe we'll do a "What are we reading?" post tomorrow - yeah, I think we will. Remember to come back and tell us then, K?
TGIF - is all I have to say!!!
