Thinking Thursday...

Here I sit, sittin' and a thinkin', thinkin' and a sittin'!

Thought #1 - It's only Thursday! How come it can't be Friday?

Thought #2 - I suggested fish for supper tonight - what the hell was I thinking, I don't really like fish!

Thought #3 - The clock in my office has a really loud ticker - it interferes with my thinking.

Thought #4 - I love my blogroll! Every morning, over coffee, I enjoy scrolling through the blogs I've dubbed my favorites. I don't read all of them every day - my Google Reader provides enough of a snippet for me to decide whether or not I want to read the entire thing (I'd love to read them all, but there's not enough time in my morning routine). But there are a few blogs that when a new post shows up, I'm there. These blog writers are truly inspirational to me (B.E., Silver, Jana, Karyn, Lu/Grace, Chuck, Beth). And there's three new blogs that are truly inspiring me:

Janice at Figuring it Out
Tammy at  Messages to Motivate
Tara at A Life Changing Journey

Thought #5 - my focus has really been on running lately! I haven't noticed much difference in the training and that always bums me out! But I haven't given up - and I try, when I do fall off the wagon, to make sure I get back on the wagon within 2 days (any longer and I find that I can watch those wagons pass by forever without having the motivation to get on one). I decided to recheck my resting heart rate - surely all this exercise, if not showing on the scale or tape measure, is having some effect. The last time I checked the resting heart rate, I was at 58 (before rising, take your pulse - I watch the digital clock for a minute - try to do it over a couple of days and then average it out). Holy crap - my resting heart rate is now at 52! Oh, yeah, all this work is definitely working (and don't call me "Shirley").

Thought #6 - It's almost 8:30 - I need to get on with my day - no more thinking!

What's on your mind today, People of Blogland?

  1. Thought #1 - I really need to get on the gazelle. I've been off it for...Wait! Look! There's a parade of wagons rolling by!

Thought #2 - I need to do laundry. LG had no jeans.

Thought #3 - I finished my Scrivener class homework without a hitch. I must be learning something.

Thought #4 - I really need to write something today--besides blog comments and tweets.

Thought #5 - Is it Friday yet? No, wait. I haven't written a blog for tomorrow! *sigh*

Thought #6 - I need more coffee. And thinking.

    1. #1 Get on that wagon - it's amazing how much better I feel (and more alert) when I do the exercise!

#2 Laundry - ugh - with our half-price electricity option here, I have to do laundry on a weekend. I'm beginning to hate Saturdays!

#3 Dont' tempt me with Scrivener - ok, tempt me - looking forward to hearing all about it and whether or not it works for you!

#4 I wish is was Friday.

#5 Too late for coffee...hmmm, wonder if it's too early for a beer?

Thanks for thinking with me, Silver :)

  2. Ah, thanks for mentioning me. I love coming here, too. There's no pressure and the people are lovely :)

My thought: Running sounds a lot like writing! And that sometimes it pays to look at things from a different angle.

Second thought: I'd love to get together for a beer!!!

Third thought: Silver, I just started learning Scrivener! I really like it, so I'm excited to learn there's a class!

Fourth thought: Must write new blog post.

    1. It is a pretty great place to hang out, Karyn (of course, I may be biased).

#1 - I never thought to equate the 'think outside the box' with my running as it relates to writing until you mentioned your thought. Thank you :)

#2 - I'd love to get together for a beer - stoopid Canada being so big!

#3 - Between you and Silver (although I am interested in Scrivener - maybe you can post some info, Karyn).

#4 - I look forward to your new blog post!

  3. Thank you for telling me about google reader. I'm grateful - I think. It may be an altogether new way for me to spend more time not doing what I oughter

    What is Scrivener?

I hate fish too. Passionately. But are you sure NS is the right location for you, therefore and etc

Too early for beer, however, a brandy alexander is made with cream, just like coffee.....

    Spring job: cull books.
    Horrid thoughts:
    1. I will read them some day
    2. We have 178 feet of bookshelves by actual count.
    3. Mummmyyyyy!!!!

    1. You're welcome, Connie! Yes, it's easy to get caught up in the Blogosphere! I really try to keep my time limited (not easy to do).

#1 - Scrivener is a software program for writers - Google it and you'll see what everyone is so excited about.

#2 - I know, Prairie Girl who hate fish living on Canada's Eastern Seaboard - doesn't make a lot of sense.

#3 - Go ahead, have a Brandy Alexander!

#4 - Good luck with the book cleanse :)

  4. Sorry I missed this yesterday - and even more so after you mentioned me and stuff. I drove up to see the Daughter and by the time I got home I was too bushed to do anything but crash on the couch. If it makes you feel any better, I didn't read any blogs yesterday or I would've been here. You're one of my must-read morning blogs. I love hanging out with you over coffee. =o)

Thought: Since I've been exercising more regularly (something almost every day for the past 3 weeks), my 6hr round trip haul to see the kid didn't take nearly as much out of me. Heck, I'm almost human today when it usually takes me at least 24 hours to recover. =o)

    1. No worries, B.E. - I wondered if you had gone on a road trip to see The Daughter! So glad to hear that the exercise is paying off - we need to remember these little signs of progress even if we don't see the change on the scale or the tape measure (at least, that's what I'm telling myself).

BTW - love that we do the morning 'virtual' coffee thing, too :)
