Transitions...

Juggling a few things - trying something new - transitioning! I never do well with transitioning - the time change every spring and fall is a good indication of my inability to transition well! So is this time of the year when I move from strictly indoor training to outside running. Some days are perfect - lace up the shoes and off I go - other days are not so good and I have to push myself to climb back aboard the treadmill. Looking back on various running journals, this time of year always shows sporadic training. Always!

I'll be back tomorrow for Inspiration Wednesday (I'm hoping to find something really awesome to get me past the rock and the hard place - that narrow path which will lead me into the meadow of summer running schedules! Until then - how do you handle transitions between the seasons? Or am I the only one who has these issues? Hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday :)

  1. I was trying to find some quotes to inspire you, but I can't figure out what would help. How about this bit from Shakespeare?

    When the blast of war blows in our ears,
    Then imitate the action of the tiger;
    Stiffen the sinews, conjure up the blood,
    Disguise fair nature with hard-favored rage;
    Then lend the eye a terrible aspect.

    You know, if you think of this transitioning thing as your own war - it is a conflict after all. ;o)

    For me, it's not so much transitioning between seasons that gets me (other than the time changes, which suck), it's shaking off the winter doldrums. Every frickin' year I spend a good part of the first few months finding it hard to muster any gumption. But now it's April and I need to get back to work. I need to lend my own eye a terrible aspect and disguise my fair nature with a hard-favored raged.

    1. The Bard! Wow, B.E. - you pulled out all the stops for this bit of inspiration. Great quote - thank you, my friend!

      Now, get back to work (*cracks whip covered in dust because I only look at it instead of using it on myself*)!!
