Drive-By...

Tried to take a picture of the moon last night - so beautiful behind whispy clouds and the skeletal branches of the trees yet to leaf out - but it came out very dark and definitely not at all how it looked to the naked eye.

Funny how that sometimes is the case for life. Expectations! This is especially true for those of us wearing our rose-colored glasses!

Crazy busy here right now - so I'll just wish you all a happy weekend and I'll see you on Monday!

*Edit: B.E. asked for the photo and did some tweaking - here it is, much clearer and definitely not so dark (she reminds me that the resolution makes it a little grainy). Thanks, B.E. - you're the best :)

  1. If you still have the pic, shoot it over to me and I'll see if I can work some editing magic to make it better. No guarantees, but I can try.

Sorry you're crazy busy - unless that's a good thing. Have an awesome weekend. See you Monday! =o)

    1. Thanks for this, B.E. - I know The Husband has said something about changing the resolution on the camera if I'm taking pics I may want to enlarge, but, honestly, I haven't got a clue!! Like I said in my e-mail: PhD camera - Push Here, Dummie!

And, again, it really doesn't do the scene justice - it was so magical last night. Of course, the dog thought I was crazy standing out there when she was clearly done her business and it was time to go to bed!

      Have a good weekend :)

    1. Thanks, Karyn - the original was so dark you could barely see the tree branches.

  3. The moon is always very hard to take pictures of. Seems like I always end up with a blurry blob. My mother got a really good one a few months ago, and said the trick was to set the shutter speed for fast. I have yet to try it, as my current camera won't let me control shutter speed.

    1. Hmm, I don't think my PhD (Push here, Dummy) camera has that option! I got a good moon picture a couple of years ago using a flash, if you can believe it. The Husband said it wouldn't turn out, but it did - it's one of my favorite photos!

Thanks for stopping by, Alice :)

  4. It looks like a knowing moon on a cold, misty autumn night.

    1. Just heard that the full moon on the 6th will be a Super Moon - only one per year where the full moon happens at the same time the moon is the closest to earth. Hope the weather men are wrong in their 'cloudy and rain' prediction!

      Thanks, Connie :)

I had forgotten about super moon.

I saw it once in Niagara Falls,
when, filtered through dust and mist, it
appeared to be HUGE. It was a harvest moon anyway, which are large and orange in Niagara.

We were looking at the floral clock and when we turned around, there it was. It appeared to be rising at the end of the sidewalk.
    Startling!
